# Privacy Policy — WH4 Inc. Apps

**Last updated:** 2026-06-18

**Applies to:** SpotClock, SpotDocs, SpotDocsWalk, and other apps published by WH4 Inc.

WH4 Inc. ("we", "WH4") develops a family of iOS apps under the **Spot** name. This

policy describes what data each app collects, why, and how it's used. Different

apps collect different data — see the per-app sections below.

If you have questions about this policy, contact **admin@wh4inc.com**.

---

## SpotClock

SpotClock does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

SpotClock uses Apple WeatherKit to display weather conditions for selected cities.

Weather data is fetched using the coordinates of cities you select. The app does

not access your device's GPS location.

**Third party services used by SpotClock:** Apple WeatherKit. Apple's privacy

policy applies to WeatherKit data: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

---

## SpotDocs

SpotDocs is a field-capture tool that records location-tagged notes, photos, and

360° imagery for sites you document.

**What we collect:**

- **Precise device location** (via Apple Core Location, and optionally via a

paired Bluetooth RTK GPS receiver). Used to tag your captures with coordinates

and convert them into what3words addresses.

- **Photos and 360° images you capture** in the app, or that you import from

your device to attach to a capture.

- **User-entered content** — labels, notes, tags you add to captures.

- **App settings** stored locally via iOS UserDefaults (e.g. preferred GPS

  source, what3words language, text-to-speech preferences).

**Where data is stored:**

All captures, photos, and 360° images are stored **locally on your device**.

SpotDocs does not upload your captures to WH4 servers in this version. You may

choose to export captures (JSON / CSV / GeoJSON) via the iOS share sheet to send

them to your own services.

**Bluetooth:** SpotDocs uses Bluetooth solely to connect to external GPS

receivers (e.g. SparkFun RTK devices) or WH4 SpotStick beacons that you

explicitly pair. It does not scan for or track other Bluetooth devices.

**Third party services used by SpotDocs:**

- **what3words** — your device's coordinates are sent to the what3words API to

resolve the three-word address for your location. See https://what3words.com/privacy

- **Apple Maps / MapKit** — used to display map previews. Apple's privacy policy

  applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

SpotDocs does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking.

## SpotDocsWalk

SpotDocsWalk is a consumer app that lets you view published location "Packs"

(e.g. an event venue's map of parking, entrances, stages).

**What we collect:**

- **Device location** (via Apple Core Location) — used to show distances and

directions to locations within a Pack. Location data is not transmitted off

  your device.

- **Pack content you download** — Pack metadata (names, descriptions,

coordinates, imagery, accessibility tags) is downloaded over HTTPS from WH4

servers, where Pack content is hosted on behalf of Pack Publishers (the

organizations who create the Pack — see "Pack Publishers" below).

- **App settings** stored locally via iOS UserDefaults.

**Where data is stored:**

Pack content is stored locally on your device after download. Your device's

location is not stored or transmitted off the device.

**What WH4's servers log:**

When you download a Pack, our servers log standard HTTP request information

(IP address, request timestamp, the Pack identifier requested, user agent).

These logs are used to operate and secure the service. We do not link these

logs to any user identity or attempt to identify individual users from them.

Logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days unless required for investigation

of abuse or security incidents.

**Bluetooth:** If a WH4 SpotStick beacon is detected nearby, SpotDocsWalk may

read the beacon's broadcast identifier to recognize a Pack location you are

near. No personal data is transmitted to the beacon, and no beacon information

is sent to WH4 servers.

**Third party services used by SpotDocsWalk:**

- **what3words** — to display three-word addresses for locations in a Pack.

  See https://what3words.com/privacy

- **Apple Maps / MapKit** — to display maps and provide navigation.

- **Apple Maps Directions** — when you tap "Get Directions" or "Open in Apple

  Maps", you are handed off to Apple Maps with the destination coordinates;

  Apple's privacy policy applies.

SpotDocsWalk does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking.

---

## Pack Publishers

Some Packs are created and maintained by third-party organizations ("Pack

Publishers") — for example, event organizers, venues, hospitals, or campuses.

WH4 hosts published Pack content and delivers it to SpotDocsWalk users on the

Publisher's behalf.

- **Publishers do not receive your location or any other personal data**

  through SpotDocsWalk.

- WH4 provides Publishers with aggregate, non-identifying statistics about

Pack downloads (such as how many times a Pack has been downloaded).

- This section will be updated as the Pack Publisher program evolves; any

material change to what Publishers can see about end users will be reflected

  here and in app updates.

---

## Data we do **not** collect

Across all our apps:

- We do **not** track you across other apps or websites.

- We do **not** sell your personal data.

- We do **not** use third-party advertising SDKs.

- We do **not** collect contacts, calendar entries, health data, photos beyond

what you explicitly select, or microphone audio.

## How long we keep data

Captures and Packs stored locally on your device remain until you delete them

or uninstall the app. WH4 does not retain copies of your local data. Server-side

HTTP logs for Pack downloads are retained for a maximum of 90 days as described

above.

## Children's privacy

Our apps are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect

personal data from children under 13.

## Your rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, California, or another

jurisdiction with applicable privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct,

or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict

certain processing. Because the apps store most data locally on your device,

you can exercise most of these rights directly by editing or deleting content

inside the app, or by uninstalling the app. For any other request, contact

**admin@wh4inc.com**.

## Security

Data stored on your device is protected by iOS's standard sandboxing. Any data

in transit between our apps and third-party services (what3words, Apple,

WH4 servers, Pack Publishers' systems) is sent over HTTPS.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top

indicates when the most recent change was made. Material changes will be

reflected in app updates and posted at this URL.
